Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a medical system that has been used to diagnose, treat and prevent illness for more than 2000 years. Based on the principles of Chinese medicine, acupuncture works by stimulating and promoting the body’s inherent ability to heal itself. Acupuncture is effective in treating many common conditions and is proven to alleviate and resolve both acute and chronic ailments.
Independent clinical research continues to demonstrate that acupuncture can help regulate the nervous system, the hormonal (endocrine) system and, as well as boost immune system response by facilitating a return to equilibrium. Acupuncture is widely recognized as a complementary treatment modality that powerfully augments Western medical practices.
Acupuncture is performed by inserting extremely thin needles into specific points along the body to stimulate and reestablish the flow of energy or Qi in the body. It relieves emotional and physical stagnation, and stimulates the endocrine and immune systems. Research has shown that acupuncture is effective in relieving localized pain, mobilizing/releasing fascia, and relieving chronic muscle tension. It has, as well, the added benefit of soothing the mind and balancing the bodies hormones and chemicals.
Electro Acupuncture
Electro acupuncture is a form of acupuncture commonly utilized in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). In standard acupuncture, one needle is used at each treatment point to stimulate specific regions of the body in order to resolve stagnation and promote body's self healing function. Electro acupuncture utilizes two needles at different treatment points. A mild electric current is passed between these two needles during treatment. This current generates more stimulation to acupuncture points than can typically be achieved by hand manipulation techniques alone.
